Features

UniMate USB is a FIPS 140-2 algorithm certified smart card USB PKI authentication token that employs strong on-board cryptography, as well as storage for digital credentials to provide a secure and portable Two Factor Authentication (TFA) experience to the end-user.

UniMate supports multiple international standards including: RSA (USA/Europe), ECC for DSTU and ECC/SM (China), with future support for upcoming standards. Middleware support for PKCS#11, MS-CAPI and miniDriver as standard and 2MB of autorun storage for digital credentials and secure information.

Available in both standard and mini form factors.

Two Factor Authentication
Two Factor Authentication (TFA)

As opposed to single-factor authentication, where only a password is required to verify the user’s credentials, two-factor authentication requires two separate modes of validation: “something you know” – the password, & “something you have” – the UniMate device. Both password and the UniMate are needed to successfully complete the login process. UniMate features the ability to generate encryption keys and store: passwords, digital certificates and personal credentials within the token.

Smart Card Technology
Smart Card Technology

The UniMate USB/Mini device is optimized with a 32-bit smart card to generate RSA encryption key pairs quickly onboard the token, enabling sophisticated security with minimal hassle and effort.

FIPS 140-2
FIPS 140-2 Level 2 Certified

FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) 140-2 is the benchmark for validating the effectiveness of cryptographic hardware. The certification is granted up to 4 Levels, UniMate USB/Mini is certified as FIPS 140-2 (Level 2):

Level 1: Basic security requirements for specified cryptographic modules and basic production grade components.

Level 2: Additional security requirements including tamper-proof and tamper-evident designs, as well as Critical Security Parameters (CSPs) within the module.

For more information or our certification see NIST.

On-Board Encryption
On-Board Encryption

Encryption and decryption processes take place on-board the UniMate USB device, minimizing the risk of interception when performing the process locally on the host computer.

Encrypted Credential Support

Credentials are encrypted and stored on the device and cannot be exported.

Non-Repudiation Digital Signing

Offers non-repudiation digital signing and storing of transactions and documents through PKI technology, ensuring the authenticity of electronic transactions.

Encryption Algorithms
Multiple Encryption Algorithms

Makes use of several industry-approved encryption algorithms including

  • AES
  • DES
  • 3DES

Hashing Algorithms:

  • MD5
  • SHA-1
Cryptography Standards

Supports MS-CAPI, PKCS#11, X.509 certificates and smart card minidriver standards.

3 Level Permission System
3 Level Permission System

Implements a three-level permission system: Administrator, User, and Guest, in order of most to least privileges determining the functions that can be performed with the token.

Dual Identifiers
Dual Identifiers

Employs both a unique global hardware ID and user-defined 32-bit software ID for identification of UniMate USB devices

Multi-Platform
Multi-Platform

Support on a wide variety of operating systems including:

  • Windows98 SE/ME/XP/Vista/7/8.1/10 (32 & 64 bit)
  • Windows Server 2000/2003/2008/2012
  • Linux(2.4+)
  • Mac OS X(10.4+)
  • Free BSD(5+)
