UniMate Frequently Asked Questions Category

What is UniMate?

UniMate is a series of product focusing on versatile platform, mobile and PC security and secure payment. It contains two-factor authentication, involving "something you have" and "something you know", tokens UniMate Flex/STD, Security mobile credit/debit card reader UniMate Reader, and a USB to audio port adapter UniMate Adapter.

How does UniMate work?

The UniMate Authentication tokens use PKI technology, and certificate is safely stored in the UniMate tokens. Without the right permission, no one can access it. Considering most mobile platform does not provide USB port, UniMate uses audio port as data communication port to support mobile platform.

Is UniMate really safer than a static password?

Using UniMate is safer than a static password, as the user needs two factors to identify himself. First you have to have the UniMate itself, which contains the digital certificate. And you also need to provide your password to log into the UnImate before you can log onto the secure server. These provide additional security.

Could someone withdraw money from my account?

That's not possible. Only you can perform transactions with your account via your UniMate. It's also important that you must keep your password for the UniMate secret.

What should I do if UniMate locked?

If the user account is locked, please contact the administrator to unlock the your user account.

What is PKI?

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is a set of hardware, software, people, policies, and procedures needed to create, manage, distribute, use, store, and revoke Digital certificates.
