UniToken Console is used to manage devices, set user permission as well as control file system and certificates.

Device Management

Logon

Select the UniToken icon in the device list.
Input the corresponding PIN in “PIN”.
Click “Logon”.

After logon, the current permission will change from “Guest” to “Admin”.

Logoff

Select the UniToken in the device list.
Click “Logoff”.

Once logged off, the permission will be changed back to “Guest”.

The default user permission is Guest when UniToken is attached to the computer and recognized, then the icon will appear besides the name of the device in the device list.

To obtain higher-level permission, a user needs to logon the UniToken with his corresponding username and PIN. When you logon as a user, the icon will appear besides the icon in the device list; if you logon as an administrator, will appear.

If a PIN is wrongly input over 15 times successively (the default attempt times is 15), UniToken will lock itself even though the right PIN is input, and the user cannot logon again. Then, you have to log on as administrator to unlock it. The administrator can also reset the maximal attempt times.

User Management

When click the User tab, UniToken detailed information will show on the right as below. It is allowed to edit token ID, change/reset User PIN, unlock token and edit software ID.

Edit UniToken ID

UniToken ID is the name that can be defined by customers, which is comprehensible for humans. That helps customers to locate and remember the token sooner.

Admin resets User PIN

UniToken provides a multi-level permission management system, in which different permissions are required when users want to perform certain operations. In this section, Admin is allowed to change his own PIN and reset the User PIN. For User, it is allowed to change his own PIN but the Admin PIN.

The picture below appears only when customer logs on as Admin.

Unlock

If a UniToken locked itself by wrong operation, you have to logon as an administrator and reset the permission.

Click “Unlock” to enter unlocking interface:

Edit SID

Software ID (hereafter SID) is a 32-bit unsigned integer that can be modified by customers according to their needs. It can be used to save the serial numbers of their software product or any number to identify a batch of tokens which share some common features.

Type in the new SID and click “OK”.

Change Admin PIN

User changes user PIN

When customer logs on as User, the options will narrow down to two: edit UniToken ID and change User PIN.

If you remove UniToken from computer, the system will ask you to insert UniToken and display the picture below:
